Well, hello! Thanks for stopping by.

We’d like to share our story with you.

We’re a local family who loves people, our community, and a good project. After purchasing The Carriage House in August 2017 we rolled up our sleeves and got to work, pouring our energy into updating the rooms and property. Most importantly, we began investing our hearts into creating a peaceful spot that travelers could call home for a bit.

Our vision is for The Carriage House to be a place where our guests experience warm hospitality, simple beauty, and refreshment. Whether you’re traveling solo or vacationing with family, we’d love to be the ones to welcome you to Lancaster County. We look forward to meeting you soon!

Let us introduce ourselves.

Jeremy and Jenna Peifer

Hi! I’m Jenna. This is Jeremy. He’s a visionary and I’m the realist. He loves big projects, runs multiple businesses and can’t resist a new challenge. I crave simplicity and order and prefer a clearly planned, thoroughly evaluated path.  Most days this works for us, and some days we’re both refined by our differences. Before we purchased The Carriage House, we didn’t work together on professional projects. I stuck to my nursing career and Jeremy did his “business thing”. The inn has allowed us to collaborate, combining my eye for detail and design with his big-picture vision.
You can find Jeremy working around the property, running the front desk, and chatting with customers. Mostly, his wheels are spinning with ideas about what we’ll do next at The Carriage House (and beyond!). I prefer to hide out, dabbling in the social media aspect of the business and slowly creating systems, order, and beauty from the initial chaos of the property. We’re both local to Lancaster County, and our family now resides in Strasburg. We’ve got 4 little girls (and a baby on the way) who you might see showing guests to their rooms, making artwork for the office, or snatching a cookie from the stash we keep for our visitors. We love God, this community, and making a spot for travelers to be at rest.

Sharon & Kevin

Let me introduce you to Sharon and Kevin Adams, my mom and stepdad. When they heard Jeremy’s vision for The Carriage House, they quickly became our biggest supporters and business partners. Mom manages the housekeeping staff and is the assistant front-desk manager. She’s got a special gift for making you feel like family, and she’s a favorite among our staff and guests. Kevin does our accounting, showing us the logistics of what it takes to make our ideas reality. He cheers us on while working full-time as a purchaser for a local food distributor. Whether they’re spending time with grandchildren or interacting with guests at The Carriage House, they desire to glorify God and love people well.

Heather & Jon

My sister and brother-in-law, Heather and Jon Krause, joined the team in April 2018 after Jon left a twelve-year career in banking to become our on-site manager. He oversees the day-to-day operations at The Carriage House and does everything from booking reservations to mowing the yard. His favorite part of the job is interacting with guests and he’s the ultimate in customer service!

Whether you need a tea bag or a tire change, Jon will figure out how to make it happen. Plus he’s our resident meteorologist, so just ask him the next time you need the forecast. Heather works part-time as an in-home caregiver and helps to take care of us all. She watches our girls while we work, keeps Jon fed, and assists with housekeeping from time to time.

WHAT FOLKS ARE SAYING:

Carrianne

Our stay at The Carriage House was wonderful! Beds were beyond comfortable. Never stayed in a room so clean...it was immaculate! The manager, Jon Krause, was so incredibly nice and answered all our questions and gave great recommendations on where to eat . We will definitely be staying here again!

Great location if you are going to Sights & Sounds Theatre. The hotel is clean, comfy and the staff is very friendly! The best part is the breakfast voucher right across the street.

The room I stayed in was the King room with small outer room and couch. I found out the room had been refreshed and not even updated yet. Very clean, I already made reservations for later in the year. Lovely place and close to the outlets.
