Our Policies
The Carriage House at Strasburg is an exclusive property where every guest reservation is valued.
Rates and policies are subject to change and may vary during high demand periods.
Please Note:

Preferred check-in time is between 1:30 PM and 10:30 PM. If you are arriving outside of the preferred check-in period, please call to make arrangements.
- We strictly prohibit smoking inside our rooms; if desired, designated outdoor smoking areas are available.
- Please note that you must be at least 18 years old to book a reservation. If you are local to our area, the minimum age requirement is 21.
- A roll-away bed can be requested for your room for an additional charge of $12. $15 for two+ nights.

Base room rates start at 1-2 adults per room. An additional $15 is added for each additional adult per night, and $12 is added per child over age 3 per night. While children 3 years and under stay for free, they are excluded from the Speckled Hen breakfast voucher.

Guests receive free parking at our facility. Due to the unique parking lot layout, we are unable to accommodate large RV’s, coach buses or travel trailers longer than 15 feet. Extended cab trucks may park towards the back of our parking lot next to the office.

Payment is collected in full on your arrival date. We accept cash, Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, Apple Pay and Android Pay. No personal checks, please.

If you need to cancel your reservation, informing us at least 48 hours prior to your arrival date ensures there will be no cost to you. In the event that you must cancel with less than 48 hour’s notice, please understand that you may need to take responsibility for the total cost of the first night of the reservation (including taxes).
- PET FREE POLICY – We are not a pet-friendly facility. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you. Violations will result in a charge of $150 for cleaning and lost revenue from the unavailable room.

Where should I eat when I'm in the area?
We’re happy to provide recommendations based on your tastes! Check out the “Eat & Drink” section on our website for a sample of popular area restaurants. The Speckled Hen, Agape Cafe, & Springhouse Tavern are local favorites as well.
How far is The Carriage House from Sight & Sound Theater?
We are conveniently located 1.5 miles from Sight & Sound Theater. From our parking lot take a left on to East Main Street. At the next traffic light take a right on to North Decatur Street / 896 North. Continue on 896 North for one mile. The theater will be on the left at the intersection of 896 North and Herr Rd.
Do the rooms have a mini-fridge?
Yes. All rooms are equipped with a mini-fridge, microwave, cable TV and a coffee maker.

Call us at 717-687-7651 and we can put you on a waiting list! If there’s a cancellation, you’ll be the first to know.
Do you have handicap accessible rooms?
We do not currently have rooms that are ADA compliant.
What time is check-out?
Check out is at 11:00 AM.
I enjoy listening to the Amish buggies going by at night. Can I request a room closer to the road?
Sure! Mention this in the reservation comments and we’ll do our best to accommodate your preferred room location.
Is breakfast included?
For each night of your stay, you’ll receive a voucher to use across the street at The Speckled Hen the following morning. You can choose from a complimentary item and beverage on the back of the voucher, or apply $8 off per person towards anything else on the menu.
Is your facility pet friendly?
No, we are not a pet-friendly facility.
Do you offer non-smoking rooms?
Yes. All rooms are non-smoking. Designated outdoor smoking areas are available.
I’m checked in and…where’s the hairdryer?
You’ll find it located underneath the sink in the bathroom vanity.
Have all the rooms & Suites been renovated?
Yes! All rooms feature new paint, linens, mattresses, furniture, décor, and flooring.
Can I request the top floor of your hotel for the view, or the bottom floor for ease of access?
We are a single level motel so you may park right in front of your room. No elevators to navigate!
Preferred check-in time starts at 3 PM. What if I have a 3 PM Sight & Sound show?
You are welcome to check-in after the show, or we can have the room ready for you by 1:30 PM. Please list your estimated arrival time on your reservation so we are aware of your plans. Thanks!
I’m sensitive to ROAD noise, can I request a room further off the STREET?
Simply mention this in the reservation comments section and we’ll do our best to accommodate your preferred room location. We also supply earplugs; simply ask us should you desire them.
